Tomorrow marks a new DADIU milestone as this semester’s students take to the stage and present what has taken up all their time for the last couple of months. And we celebrate the students with a bang and a very special graduation showcase on the 4th of December.
But while we are buzzing for the big day, you can already get to know this year's student productions below.
The seven games will be presented at The National Film School of Denmark, where we get the chance to meet the team behind each game, and get to know more about the creative process behind each project, and we even get the chance to try games out on interim gaming stations at the film school's cantina.
Due to seating restrictions, only guests and industry stakeholders are invited to physically attend the event, but the entire showcase will be broadcast live from the cinema of the Film School.
Glance through each game below, and make sure to join the live chat via DADIU’s Twitch.
Graduation kicks off at 15:00.
'Skybound' is a 3D exploration platformer focused on fun, fluid movement mechanics, parkour and environmental puzzle solving. You play as Bell, a young archaeologist exploring mystical floating islands in search of ancient artifacts. Use Bell's specialized equipment - including a Grappling Anchor, agility boots, and mastery over the magical "Flow" - to investigate ruins untouched by explorers for ages.
Swing through the sky, traverse the islands and meet its curious and whacky inhabitants. You've got a contract to fulfill and mysteries to unearth!
'Blank' is an atmospheric platformer set in a realm made entirely of paper. You play as a Blank sheet, new to this place. By finding company in other paper creatures, you learn to fold and move like them. Discover the joy of movement as you roll, jump, glide, and reshape yourself to navigate the fragile landscape on your journey toward the Great Paper Tree.
'Infernal Logistics' is a narrative delivery game set on the fog-shrouded Mistwood Isle in 1982. You’re a stranded courier bound to a cursed radio at 66.6 MHz, forced to haul cargo across the island’s three eerie regions. Help the locals, deceive the demons, and uncover the truth behind the island’s radio tower.
Hunted and accused of foul sorcery, a young woman flees into a strange manor. Explore its quirky rooms, use magic to solve playful puzzles, and form unlikely bonds with eccentric residents. Comfort simmers with unease and weirdness becomes the clue in this cozy-horror tale about home and belonging, where refuge is only the beginning.
'Tracebound' is a fast-paced action-racing game where you play as Ayor, an ice skater who glides across the body of a colossal being.
Those giants were once the forces of nature itself, making the world thrive through their movements. But humanity struggled to settle in a world that is constantly changing, and out of fear, they bound the gaints in place. But without their motion, nature withered, and the world began to die. As Ayor you skate across the hazardous skin of the giant and carve frozen traces into its surface. By circling its limbs and shattering the chains that imprison it, you will free the giant and help nature to heal.
'BIND' is a slow-paced metaphysical puzzle journey set in the liminal realm between death and rebirth, ruled by the divine sisters of fate. The player takes on the role of a traversing spirit solving challenges connected to the thread of life. BIND poses existential questions in an abstract environment, supported by ethereal voices and atmospheric sound design, creating an unconventional puzzle experience.
'Once Upon a Shell' is a roguelike racing game of ridiculous speed and wild upgrades. Outrun a pack of overconfident hares in chaotic, fast-paced races where momentum is everything, tuck into your tortoise shell to drift around the grasslands with ecstatic speed, and build movement combos between races and prove that even a tortoise can lift The Hare Cup.
